Calculations

Vigil functions by increasing the default Recovery rate of Cool-down timers, which is set at 1 c/s.

It can also stack with other instances of itself, if multiple Survivors are using the Perk and standing within the shared Area of Effect.

Single Instance

If only one instance of Vigil is present, it increases the Recovery rate to 1.43/1.55/1.66 c/s respectively.

Multi-Instance

If multiple instances of Vigil are present, the effects stack additively first and are then applied as a combined multiplier:

  • 2 instances of Vigil III increase the Recovery rate to 2.32 c/s (1 + 0.66 + 0.66).
  • 3 instances of Vigil III increase the Recovery rate to 2.98 c/s (1 + 0.66 + 0.66 + 0.66).
  • 4 instances of Vigil III increase the Recovery rate to 3.64 c/s (1 + 0.66 + 0.66 + 0.66 + 0.66).

Change Log

Patch 2.3.0

  • Buff: added a Linger effect so Survivors leaving its range can still temporarily benefit from Vigil's effect.

Patch 4.5.0

  • Change: no longer affects Mangled, as the Status Effect was changed from being timer-based to lasting until fully healed.

Patch 5.3.0

  • Buff: increased the Recovery Rate bonuses from 10/15/20 % to 20/25/30 %.
  • Buff: now also affects the following new Status Effects: Broken, Exposed, Oblivious.

Patch 7.6.0

  • Change: once again affects the Mangled Status Effect, as it itself was reverted back to being timer-based.

Patch 8.5.0

  • Buff: doubled the Perk's range to affect other Survivors from 8 metres to 16 metres.
  • Buff: further increased the Recovery Rate bonuses from 20/25/30 % to 43/55/66 %.
    • It should be noted that the Patch Notes erroneously mention lower values of 30/35/40 %.
      Cross-referencing the code from previous Patches confirmed that the coded values of older versions of Vigil matched their stated ones.


Trivia

  • Vigil does stack with other instances of itself within its range.
  • Vigil does not affect instances of the Exposed Status Effect when their timers are directly linked to a Killer's active Power (i.e Evil Within IIIIconPowers stalker3.pngIconPowers stalker3.pngIconPowers stalker3.png and Marked Survivors against Night ShroudIconPowers nightShroud.pngIconPowers nightShroud.pngIconPowers nightShroud.png).
  • Vigil does not affect any instances of the Hindered Status Effect that are applied by interacting with a Killer's Power.
