Trivia
- Valtiel Sect Photograph is a painting found in Silent Hill 2 inside Silent Hill Historical Society.
- Valtiel refers to an angel and attendant to God in Silent Hill's religious cult.
- The photograph is the painting "Crimson and White Banquet for the Gods", depicting two executioners from the town's history. The executioners wore red hoods and white robes as an homage to Valtiel. Developer Takayoshi Sato explained, "The place Silent Hill is used to be the place of execution, away from cities. That was secret and sacred place. Heinous criminals are transferred to that place and get executed. That place existed only for that reason. Thus all village people are executioners or family of executioners. Executioners needed to wear a mask at the event so they do not directly witness their spear when it was piercing flesh."
- Victims of the executioners were given a final choice before their death: to be killed by skewering or by hanging. Members of the cult's clergy were given a third option not awarded to prisoners or sinners: death by immolation. This was considered a more dignified ceremony, because of their god being a sun diety.
- Modern executioners of the cult fall under its Valtiel Sect, founded by Jimmy Stone aka the Red Devil.
- An abstract painting of an executioner, Misty Day, Remains of Judgement, was seen by James Sunderland three years before Silent Hill 2. His memory of the painting influenced Pyramid Head's look.
