The Ferryman is a Psychopomp (a guide to souls to the place of the dead) that originates from Greek Mythology.

Overview

Charon is a Psychopomp from Greek Mythology, known for transporting dead souls over the River Styx to the realm of Hades. He would charge a gold drachma to the souls wanting to cross or else they would be forced to wander the Styx's shores for a hundred years before being allowed to cross.

Trivia

  • The Ferryman is the third Ultra Rare killer added to the game.
  • He appears similar to how he was described by Virgil in the Aeneid.
    • "There Charon stands, who rules the dreary coast;
      A sordid god: down from his hairy chin;
      A length of beard descends, uncombed, unclean;
      His eyes, like hollow furnaces on fire;
      A girdle, foul with grease, binds his obscene attire."
