The Ethereal Plane

The Ethereal Plane is one of 8 known sub-realms to the Entity's Realm in which Dead by Daylight takes place.

Overview

The Ethereal Plane is used exclusively by The Spirit, other Killers do not have access to it.

The Ethereal Plane is on a different plane of existence to the Entity's Realm.
It could be located somewhere in-between the Dream World and the Spirit World, as it encompasses elements of both:
its appearance is similar to the Dream World, but without the heavy fog and phase-walkers have a smoke visual effect around their peripheral vision.

Notably, a Killer within The Ethereal Plane cannot interact with Survivors and objects outside of it.

Survivors have no means to enter it or interact with it.

Effects

The Ethereal Plane greatly boosts The Spirit's Movement speed, but also hides Survivors from her view and disables any Aura-reading abilities.

While on The Ethereal Plane, The Spirit can only see Scratch Marks left by running Survivors.
Pools of Blood are invisible to her.

Trivia

• Originally, Survivors would retain collision with a phase-walking Spirit, but this was ultimately removed for balancing reasons.
