Talk:Charlotte & Victor Deshayes
Is there anyone else available and willing to fix the old Twins page? There is a bunch of outdated info currently in their power description as well as in the power trivia section from before their failed rework. Now the Twins have developed a new assortment of bugs, such as the false color hit and the instant recall bug where you can see the aura of and immediately recall Victor the moment he latches onto a survivor and you regain control of Charlotte! - If you would be specific about which information is allegedly outdated, then sure, but a vague "there is outdated info somewhere and bugs" isn't helpful. Please specify what it is exactly that you have an issue with and provide the necessary information. I recently rechecked the Twins' code, so as far as I am concerned, the page is correct. I am not rechecking everything again just to see if something is amiss. Give me specifics and I'll gladly recheck those.
But keep in mind that we do not list bugs on the Wiki as a general rule. Doc (talk) 09:14, 1 June 2024 (UTC)
Sorry, I was being vague about my statement on outdated info. I tested the Twins in various games for the specific info that is in need of a change. Here are the following snippets with my suggestions in brackets:
Victor:
Pouncing without latching onto a Survivor leaves Victor vulnerable for a few seconds, giving nearby Survivors a chance to Crush him:
He is vulnerable for 3 seconds after missing a Pounce. He is [in]vulnerable for [3 seconds, not 5. Maybe it is a 2.7 second duration from the reduced cooldown.] after downing a Survivor with a Pounce.
Pouncing onto obstacles taller than himself causes Victor to automatically dissolve and return to Charlotte.
Charlotte:
Haste strength: +10 % [I would scrap this stat as it is currently unused in live servers. I do acknowledge that it showed up in PTB prior, but this is not PTB anymore.]
Switching Siblings:
From Charlotte to Victor: 0.25 seconds This time is extended to 5 seconds when doing so near a Hook [Currently, I am unable to switch siblings in these specified ranges. This is the only statement that needs rewording.] (see restrictions below). From Victor to Charlotte: 1.5 seconds Radius restrictions: within 4 metres of Exit Gates within 6 metres of the Hatch within 16 metres of Hooks
This is all I can find that is currently outdated from the power section. Let me know if you can fix these things on the wiki and I will be glad! S1monW1ndsorSays (talk) 00:44, 2 June 2024 (UTC)
After doing further research into the discrepencies, I decided to look at live DBD patches 7.7.0 and 7.7.1. I will first bring a quick example from version 7.7.0 on Twins after PTB, which includes the QOL changes, then I will bring a brief example of the 7.7.1 bug fixes, which again refer to the Twins, but with QOL accidentally removed. I will include comments to refer to the earlier and latest patches.
Patch 7.7.0 (live, Twins): Killer Update - The Twins
The Visual Terror Radius accessibility setting will now include Victor’s grunts. (NEW) Victor will now glow red whenever he is vulnerable to being crushed and white when he is not. (NEW) [7.7.1 bug fixed to "remove" QOL change, considered a Reversal instead]<< Charlotte can now recall Victor at any point while he is unbound. (NEW) [7.7.1 bug fixed to "remove" QOL, considered a Reversal instead]<< A new icon has been added to indicate the moment when Victor can be recalled. (NEW) Decreased the time it takes to switch back to Charlotte to 1.5 seconds. (was 3 seconds) Decreased the time it takes to unbind Victor to 0.75 seconds. (was 1 second) Decreased the time it takes to charge Victor’s Pounce to 0.85 seconds. (was 1 second) Increased the cooldown for Victor to come back after being crushed to 10 seconds. (was 6 seconds)
7.7.1 (Bug fixes, related to Twins' changes): Fixed an issue which allowed Victor to be recalled sooner than 30 seconds after latching onto a Survivor. [Patching an intended QOL; refer to patch 7.7.0]<< Victor now glows red after downing an injured Survivor with a Pounce attack, properly indicating he can be Crushed. [Patching an intended QOL; refer to patch 7.7.0]<< Victor can no longer latch on to survivors with the Endurance status effect. Fixed an issue that caused Victor to be unable to move after switching to Victor while a Bot is crushing him.
From this patch comparison, there were two QOL changes that were patched out due to "bug fixes" which weren't supposed to be bugs to begin with. In that case, I would advise that the change log be able to display these so-called bugs as Reversals instead so that the DBD community would understand the developers' true motives behind undoing part of the Twins' rework. Charlotte's +10% haste strength is still not used, BTW. S1monW1ndsorSays (talk) 00:33, 3 June 2024 (UTC)
- Are you absolutely sure that Victor is INvulnerable after downing a Survivor with a Pounce? Also, more specificity regarding the change log would be nice. Which entries exactly should be changed/added and how? Doc (talk) 09:11, 3 June 2024 (UTC)
After further tests, I can confirm that from the Twins' gameplay, from patch 7.7.0, Victor used to only be invulnerable when he downs survivors. However, he is no longer invulnerable this way as of patch 7.7.1. Additionally, the siblings are currently unable to switch when near hooked survivors, hatch, and exit gates, and Charlotte no longer retains her ability to recall Victor as she desires from patch 7.7.1. Therefore, the following changes to the change log are suggested:
Victor:
Pouncing without latching onto a Survivor leaves Victor vulnerable for a few seconds, giving nearby Survivors a chance to Crush him:
He is vulnerable for 3 seconds after missing a Pounce. He is vulnerable for [2.7] seconds after downing a Survivor with a Pounce.
Charlotte:
Haste strength: +10 % [removed]
Switching Siblings:
From Charlotte to Victor: 0.25 seconds From Victor to Charlotte: 1.5 seconds Th[ese] action[s] [are unavailable] when doing so near a Hook[ed survivor, Exit Gate, or the Hatch] (see restrictions below). Radius restrictions: within 4 metres of Exit Gates within 6 metres of the Hatch within 16 metres of Hook[ed Survivors]
Patch 7.7.0
- Buff: reduced the Transition duration when switching from Victor to Charlotte from 3 seconds to 1.5 seconds.
- Buff: reduced the time it takes to unbind Victor from 1 second to 0.75 seconds.
- Buff: reduced the Charge time for a Pounce from 1 second to 0.85 seconds.
- Buff: reduced the Cool-down duration for successful Pounces without latching on from 5 seconds to 2.7 seconds.
- Buff: granted Charlotte the ability to recall Victor whenever she desires.
- QoL: added the ability to switch between the siblings while near a hooked Survivor, albeit at a slower rate. [Unused stat; needs to be scrapped]<<
- QoL: Victor now glows red whenever he is vulnerable to being Crushed and white when he is invulnerable.
- The latter also prevents Victor from being stunned by Pallets.
- QoL: added a new icon to represent the moment Victor can be recalled.
- QoL: added several UX improvements to the Power Gauge:
- Cool-downs are now indicated through changes in icon opacity.
- The Power Gauge now displays Victor's Cool-down.
- Charlotte's Power icon now updates to surface when recalling Victor is available.
- This now also surfaces the correct input necessary to recall him.
- Nerf: increased the Cool-down time for Victor to return to Charlotte after being crushed from 6 seconds to 10 seconds.
- Change: the Shrieks produced by Victor are now correctly indicated by the visual Terror Radius as a Lullaby.
Patch 7.7.1
- (Taken from Bug Fixes in this Patch)
- Nerf: Victor can no longer latch onto injured survivors with the Endurance status effect.
- Reversal: Victor no longer becomes invulnerable from other survivors kicking him after he downs a survivor. The white glow effect no longer applies to him from the previous QOL.
- Reversal: Charlotte can no longer recall Victor as she desires after he latches onto a healthy survivor. Instead, Charlotte must now wait the full 30 seconds before doing so. (Direct reversion from previous QOL.)
That is pretty much all I can think of for entry logs at the moment. You can reword these as you see fit, but hopefully no one will be as confused about the Twins' rework as I was. Maybe the developers will look into it again now that I told them. S1monW1ndsorSays (talk) 18:26, 3 June 2024 (UTC)
