Change Log
Patch 5.3.0
- Retired: with the departure of CHAPTER 13: Stranger Things from Dead by Daylight, Surge was reworked into a General Killer Perk: Jolt
.
- For Players who had owned CHAPTER 13: Stranger Things before its removal, Jolt would still show the original flavour text in the description and the Character association with The Demogorgon.
Patch 6.1.0
- Buff: removed the cool-down from the Perk.
- Nerf: instead of a fixed penalty of -8 % across all Tiers, Surge (then Jolt) now applies a tiered penalty of 6/7/8 %.
Patch 7.0.0
- Undocumented Buff: Survivors now scream in addition to being interrupted by the exploding Generator.
Patch 7.3.3
- Reinstation: reinstated Surge with the return of CHAPTER 13: Stranger Things.
- Renamed Jolt back to Surge.
Patch 7.4.0
- Change: is now once again a Unique Perk.
Patch 7.5.0
- Change: does not trigger a Loud Noise Notification if no Progression is lost on a Generator.
- This change is due to the addition of a limit to how often individual Generators can experience a Regression event.
Trivia
- The Regression Penalty of Surge is not applied on top of the default Regression Penalty of a Failed Skill Check (10 %), it replaces it.
- This also applies to Generators that are already regressing.
- The penalty is fixed, meaning Surge will only apply its stated percentage and not stack on top of the default penalty of a Failed Skill Check, as some Players believe.
- Since any affected Generators start regressing automatically, Surge conflicts with using Pop Goes the Weasel
or Overcharge
.
- It does, however, activate Surveillance
on Generators affected by it.
