Staying in the Terror Radius without being chased grants +1 Token every 15 seconds, up to a maximum of 2/3/4 Tokens.
While performing a skilful interaction that can trigger Skill Checks, you benefit from the following effects:

• Converts any Good Skill Check into a Great Skill Check.
  • This consumes -1 Token.
• Increases the Progression bonus of those Great Skill Checks by +1 %.

Stake Out does not apply to regular Great Skill Checks nor do they consume any Tokens.

• Buff: added a new secondary effect that increases the Progression bonus of Converted Great Skill Checks.

Trivia

• Lullabies do not give any progression towards Tokens.
  • Neither does a fake Terror Radius induced by the Madness Status Effect when facing The Doctor, which gives Stake Out the added functionality of knowing whether you are inside his actual Terror Radius or not.
• Due to Stake Out starting to charge instantly in the presence of a Terror Radius (if not at maximum Tokens), it was often used as a detection tool similar to the visual Heartbeat introduced years later.
• Stake Out does not gain any Tokens when in the Dying State or when hooked.
• Autodidact disables Great Healing Skill Checks, cancelling out the benefits of Stake Out.
• Stake Out does not gain Tokens if the Survivor is affected by the Oblivious Status Effect.
• Stake Out works with Skill Checks triggered by Jigsaw Boxes or the Lament Configuration.
• Converted Great Skill Checks work with Hyperfocus.
