Rework: reworked to focus solely on detecting Totems and added a Token counter that keeps track of the amount of time a Totem was cleansed in the Trial.
Buff: added a secondary effect that causes the angle of the Detection cone to narrow with each Token, making the Perk more precise over time.
Quality of Life: no longer triggers on the Totem the Player is currently interacting with.
Change: updated the icon to match the new effect.
Audio Cue
Whenever a Totem is detected within Small Game's Detection cone, this sound cue will play:
Trivia
Small Game triggers its audio cue on all types of Totems, including Dull, Hex, Boon, and Rekindled Totems.
It also triggers it regardless of whether it was the Player who cleansed a Totem or another Survivor who did so.
Visually, the Token counter cannot exceed 5 Tokens. However, in Trials that technically feature more than 5Totems (e.g. when the Killer creates Rekindled Totems), the secondary effect will continue stacking in the background, eventually reducing the angle of the Detection cone to 0 °, rendering the Perk unusable for the remainder of the Trial at that point.
History
The first iteration of Small Game was only useful in games against The Trapper, as its only effect was to reveal the Aura of his Bear Traps.
Upon release, this meant there was a 1 in 3 chance (Trapper, Wraith, or Hillbilly) of the Perk being useful in a Trial, which later worsened to just 1 in 5 (Trapper, Wraith, Hillbilly, Nurse, or Shape), before Small Game was reworked in Patch 1.3.0.
Small Game's icon, until Patch 4.7.0, referenced its original effect with its icon displaying a pair of legs stepping over an armed Bear Trap.
