Scourge Hook Perks

Scourge Hook Perks are Perks that interact with and depend on the Scourge Hook Mechanic, which was first introduced with CHAPTER 21: Hellraiser™ in Patch 5.2.0.

There are currently 6 Scourge Hook Perks available in Dead by Daylight.

Overview

Equipping a Scourge Hook Perk transforms a few selected Hooks, which are randomly selected throughout the Trial Grounds, into Scourge Hooks.

Scourge Hooks inflict Survivors, who are either hooked onto or unhooked from them, with various adverse effects, depending on the equipped Scourge Hook Perks.

Behaviour

Whenever a Scourge Hook Perk is equipped by the Killer, the game transforms 4 Hooks into Scourge Hooks.
This number is static and does not stack with other Scourge Hook Perks.
The only exception to this is the Perk Scourge Hook: Monstrous Shrine, which transforms the Hooks inside the Basement in addition to the four regular Scourge Hooks.

If a Killer has several Scourge Hook Perks equipped, a Scourge Hook will apply all of their combined effects to the hooked/unhooked Survivor.

Visual Differences

As far as Survivors are concerned, Scourge Hooks are completely indistinguishable from regular Hooks.
The only exception to this is the Perk Saboteur, which highlights Scourge Hooks in yellow to the Perk user whenever another Survivor is being carried by the Killer.

For the Killer, Scourge Hooks feature a special white outline emanate a smoky visual effect rising from their base, along with floating pieces of orange-glowing ashes.
As soon as the Killer carries a Survivor on their shoulder, the Auras of Scourge Hooks are highlighted to them in white.

Scourge Hook Perks

	Scourge Hook: Floods of Rage	"You form a psychic connection with The Entity and alter the rules of the Trial." At the start of the Trial, 4 random Hooks are changed into Scourge Hooks: The Auras of Scourge Hooks are revealed to you in white. Each time a Survivor is unhooked from a Scourge Hook, the following effects apply: The Auras of all other Survivors are revealed for 5/6/7 seconds.
	Scourge Hook: Hangman's Trick	Unlocks potential in your Aura-reading ability and your ingenious modifications to Hooks alert you of tampering. At the start of the Trial, 4 random Hooks are changed into Scourge Hooks: The Auras of Scourge Hooks are revealed to you in white. Receive a Loud Noise Notification, whenever a Survivor starts sabotaging a Hook. While carrying a Survivor, the Auras of all Survivors within 8/10/12 metres of a Scourge Hook are revealed to you. 	Scourge Hook: Jagged Compass	"Sometimes the compass points north. Other times it points somewhere else entirely." At the start of the Trial, 4 random Hooks are changed into Scourge Hooks: The Auras of Scourge Hooks are revealed to you in white. Whenever a Survivor is unhooked from a normal Hook, the following effect applies: The Hook is converted into a Scourge Hook. Whenever you hook a Survivor onto a Scourge Hook, the following effect applies: The Aura of the Generator with the most progression is highlighted in yellow for 6/8/10 seconds. "Drop anchor! 	Scourge Hook: Monstrous Shrine	"Your fervent care of the Hooks found in the Basement has aroused The Entity's interest." At the start of the Trial, the 4 Hooks located inside the Basement and an additional 4 Hooks located throughout the Trial Grounds are all changed into Scourge Hooks: The Auras of Scourge Hooks are highlighted to you in white. Whenever you are farther than 24 metres from a Survivor hooked onto a Scourge Hook, the following effect applies: Accelerates their Sacrifice Process by 10/15/20 %. "Then you will know that there is no escape. When hanging in the depths, you face the dark one."
	Scourge Hook: Pain Resonance	Overwhelming pain reverberates outwards. At the start of the Trial, 4 random Hooks are changed into Scourge Hooks: The Auras of Scourge Hooks are revealed to you in white. Start the Trial with 4 Token. Whenever a Survivor is hooked onto a Scourge Hook for the first time, Scourge Hook: Pain Resonance consumes -1 Token and applies the following effects: Causes the Generator with the most progression to explode, damaging it. Instantly regresses the damaged Generator by 10/15/20 % of its total Progression. Causes the damaged Generator to start regressing afterwards. Causes all Survivors repairing the damaged Generator to scream. This does not trigger a Loud Noise Notification. Scourge Hook: Pain Resonance is disabled for the remainder of the Trial once all Tokens are consumed. 	Scourge Hook: Weeping Wounds	"You are the bringer of sweet pain." At the start of the Trial, 4 random Hooks are changed into Scourge Hooks: The Auras of Scourge Hooks are revealed to you in white. Each time a Survivor is unhooked from a Scourge Hook, the following effects apply: Causes that Survivor to suffer from the Haemorrhage Status Effect for 90 seconds. After the first time that Survivor is healed back to full health, they suffer from the following effect until they are injured again by any means: Reduces their Action speeds for Healing and Repairing by 10/13/16 %.

Saboteur

Saboteur is to date the only Survivor Perk that directly interacts with the Scourge Hook mechanic:

	Saboteur	Unlocks potential in your Aura-reading ability: While the Killer is carrying another Survivor, the Auras of all Hooks within 56 metres of their original Pick-up location are revealed to you: The Auras of normal Hooks are white. The Auras of Scourge Hooks are yellow. Unlocks the ability to sabotage Hooks without Toolboxes: Increases the Sabotage speed without a Toolbox by +30 %. This effect has a cool-down of 70/65/60 seconds after use.

Trivia

• Usually, there only exist 4 Scourge Hooks on the Map.
  Any one of them will activate the Perk effects when used.
• If a Player is using Scourge Hook: Monstrous Shrine, the Basement Hooks will be converted into Scourge Hooks as well, creating a total of 8 Scourge Hooks.
  • The Basement Scourge Hooks will trigger the effects of any Scourge Hook Perk, not just those of Monstrous Shrine.
