History
The sketch is clear and detailed.
Strange knowledge flows into you, followed by dread uncertainty.
Start the Trial with 6 Charges.
Press the Use Item button to channel the Annotated Map:
- The Auras of Pallets and Windows within 40 metres of your location are revealed to you for 14 seconds.
While channelling the
Map, press the
Secondary Action button at any point before the timer elapses for the following additional effect:
- Creates a Beam of Light at your current location that lasts for 16 seconds.
- The Auras of Generators within 32 metres of it are revealed to all Survivors and highlighted in red.
The
Annotated Map consumes
-1 Charge per use.
This Patch also changed the introductory flavour text and renamed the Item from Rainbow Map to Annotated Map.
An piece of parchment made out of oddly fresh skin with blood on its edge that has yet to dry, and that is rolled and sealed with multiple coloured ropes and cords.
Start the Trial with 3 Objects in the environment already tracked.
Whenever you come within 8 metres of a trackable object, it is automatically added to the Map:
- Exit Gate Switches
- Generators
- Hatch
- Hooks
Objects revealed by the
Perk Detective's Hunch are also automatically added to the
Map, including the following usually non-trackable objects:
Press and hold the
Use Item button to channel the
Annotated Map:
- The Auras of all Tracked Objects are revealed to you for as long as you continue channelling the Map.
The
Annotated Map slowly depletes while being used and has a maximum Durability of
20 seconds.
Start the Trial with
3 Objects in the environment already tracked.

Change Log
- Quality of Life: objects revealed by Detective's Hunch


are now automatically added to the Map, allowing it to reveal their Auras as well.
This includes objects that are usually not trackable by Maps.
- Rework:
- Buff: new Ability: temporarily reveals the Auras of nearby Pallets and Windows when used.
- Buff: new Ability: pressing the Secondary Ability button now creates a Beam of Light that reveals the Auras of nearby Generators to all Survivors.
- Quality of Life: Charges now equate to instances of using its abilities, rather than for how long it can be channelled.
- Change: lowered the Rarity from Visceral back to Rare.
Trivia
- The Annotated Map (then known as the Rainbow Map) was added to Dead by Daylight in Patch 1.1.2 alongside several new Unlockables.
- Generators revealed by other effects are automatically tracked by the Annotated Map.
