Prove Thyself is a Unique PerkIconHelp perks.pngIconHelp perks.pngIconHelp perks.png belonging to Dwight FairfieldSurvivorDwight.pngSurvivorDwight.pngSurvivorDwight.png.
Prestige Dwight Fairfield to Prestige 1, 2, 3 respectively to unlock Tier I, Tier II, Tier III of Prove Thyself for all other Characters.

Change Log

Patch 2.5.0

  • Rework: reworked the main effect to be focused on Repair speed.
    • Buff: changed the variable Repair Speed bonus to a fixed but stack-able +10 %.
    • QoL: clarified that Prove Thyself is a Single Instance Perk.
    • Nerf: no longer affects the Action speeds for Cleansing, Healing, Opening, Sabotaging, and Searching.
    • Change: now grants bonus Bloodpoints for triggering co-operative Score Events.

Patch 3.7.0

  • Buff: increased the Repair Speed bonus from +10 % to +15 %.
    • This change was motivated by an increase to the base Efficiency Penalty for multiple Survivors repairing the same Generator that was applied in the same Patch.

Patch 7.1.0

  • Nerf: reduced the Repair Speed bonus and changed it from a fixed +15 % to a variable 6/8/10 %.
  • Change: no longer grants bonus Bloodpoints for triggering co-operative Score Events.


Calculations

Note: Repair speed is measured in Charges per second. A Generator requires 90 Charges to be completed.
  • Formula:
    'Generator Charges' / (('Individual Default Repair speed' * (1 + 'Prove Thyself Bonus converted to decimal')) * 'Number of Repairing Survivors')
    • Example for 2 Survivors:
      90 / ((0.85 * (1 + 0.10)) * 2) = ~48.13
      90 / ((0.85 * 1.10) * 2) = ~48.13
      90 / (0.9350 * 2) = ~48.13
      90 / 1.870 = ~48.13
  • It should be noted that the effect of Prove Thyself is applied on top of the Repair speed already afflicted with the Efficiency Penalty and not on top of the default Repair speed a Survivor would have if they were to solo-repair a Generator.
    • The individual Repair speed of Survivors will usually not exceed the default Repair speed of 1 c/s with Prove Thyself alone, unless the Perk's user is standing within its activation range, but not actively repairing.
  • It should also be noted that Prove Thyself does not include the Perk owner in its calculation of how great the speed buff should be and will therefore, in case of four Survivors being within its range, at most apply a buff of +30 % (3 * 10 % for 3 other Survivors).
    • However, that buff will be applied to ALL Survivors within its range, including the Perk owner.

Trivia

  • Prove Thyself mitigates to a degree the Efficiency penalty applied to each individual Survivor that is repairing the same Generator.
  • Up to Patch 2.5.0, Prove Thyself featured the following flavour text: "I'll show you what I can do!" — Dwight Fairfield
  • Up to Patch 3.7.0, due to the Game's tendency to round up values it uses to display the animation in the progress bar, when two Survivors were repairing a Generator under the effect of the Perk, the progress bar would indicate no debuff, using the neutral grey colour, despite the actual Repair speed having been 0.99 c/s.
