Obsession Perks are PerksIconHelp perks.pngIconHelp perks.pngIconHelp perks.png that interact with and depend on the Obsession Mechanic, which was first introduced with CHAPTER 2: The HALLOWEEN® Chapter in Patch 1.2.1.

The mechanic was originally intended to symbolise the interaction between The Shape and Laurie Strode in the Halloween movies, which the original versions of their Perks replicated.

There are currently 18 Obsession Perks available in Dead by DaylightIconHelp DBDlogo.pngIconHelp DBDlogo.pngIconHelp DBDlogo.png.

Overview

Obsession Perks generally provide the Obsession (a Survivor chosen randomly at the start of a Trial) and the Killer with strong benefits when directly interacting with one another.

Trivia

  • Being the first special mechanic to interact with Perks, Obsession Perks lack the prefix newer Perks interacting with special mechanics usually carry, such as Hex Perks or Boon Perks.
    • They are also the only Perks that share their gameplay mechanic with other types of Unlockables (i.e. Add-ons).
