Modifier: Lights Out - Castlevania (V2) was the second iteration of the recurring limited-time Modifier: Lights Out.
It was available between 12 and 19 September 2024 and accompanied by a Modifier Tome: Modifier Tome 3 - Lights Out - Castlevania
Overview
While similar to the first iteration of Lights Out, which focused on playing in increased darkness with billowing fog and a higher emphasis on stealth, there were some changes.
All modifications to the regular gameplay loop are detailed in the following sections.
Daily Log-in Rewards
- Day 1: To be added.
- Day 2: 50,000 BP
- Day 3: To be added.
- Day 4: 50,000 BP
- Day 5: 10 RF
- Day 6: 50,000 BP
- Day 7: 50,000 BP
General Changes
Load-Out
The Load-Out is disabled for Lights Out.
Visual Effects
The Fog is thicker than ever, causing both the Killer and Survivors to have limited visibility.
- The duration of the Bubble Indicator in powered Exit Gates
is reduced to 4 seconds for both Survivors and the Killer.
Sound Effects
Sounds produced by the Killer and Survivors are harder to hear through the thick Fog:
- The sound of Survivor and Killer Footsteps is suppressed.
Stealth
The Terror Radius and Scratch Marks
are disabled.
Anti-Camping Feature
The range of the Anti-Camp Feature is doubled to 32 metres.
HUD
Lights Out hides most of the HUD elements and the Status HUD, with a few exceptions:
- Survivor Portrait
- Chase-Status
- Hook Stages
- Button prompts
Killer Changes
The Killer's ability to terrorise their prey is improved in the darkness:
Dropping Items
Survivors entering the Dying State automatically drop the Candelabra, if they were carrying it around.
Survivor Changes
Survivors' determination rises as the Fog descends:
Chest Loot
A total of 11 Chests spawn in the environment and Survivors may use whichever Item they find inside them.
Their loot table is modified to only feature Items of at least Rare Rarity, as well as the new Limited Item: Candelabra.
Item Rarity | Spawn Chance |
---|---|
Common | 0 % (disabled) |
Uncommon | 0 % (disabled) |
Rare | 20 % |
Very Rare | 10 % |
Ultra Rare | 10 % |

Keys
While Chests are plentiful in Lights Out and spawn Toolboxes, Maps, and Med-Kits, they never spawn any Keys.
If the Killer closes the Hatch, it will be closed for good.
Endurance
After Survivors are unhooked, their Endurance Status Effect lasts for an extended duration of 60 seconds.
Generators
All Generators start with a minimum of 5 % Progression at the start of the Trial, making it easier to find them by ear, as visibility is impaired.
Survivors also have their individual base Repair speed increased by +20 % to 1.2 c/s.
Candelabra
Candelabra | Limited Item
In the darkest of castles, any light is a precious commodity. All Survivors start the Trial with a Candelabra held in hand.
