Chaos Shuffle is a recurring limited-time Modifier in Dead by Daylight.

Chaos Shuffle modifies the Gameplay Loop applying the Remix Challenge used in newer Tomes to all Players in the Trial, causing all five Players to enter the Trial with a fully randomised set of Perks.

The Chaos Shuffle Modifier has occurred 6 times to date and featured 2 Modifier Tomes and 1 set of Modifier Quests:

It should be noted that gameplay-wise, all instance of Chaos Shuffle are identical to one another, hence why the name remains the same in the table above.

Gameplay Modifications

Chaos Shuffle has the same effect as the Remix Tome Challenges, acting as a Random Perks Modifier and loading all Players into the Trial with a random set of four Perks.

Instead of being able to rely on tactics Players are accustomed to when playing with their regular Load-out, they are pushed to re-evaluate their playstyle and strategise with the Perks they are dealt with at the beginning of the Trial.

Cosmetic Rewards

Trivia

• Unlike Lights Out, the Trials remain largely unaffected, with no restrictions other than the random Perks.
  • But akin to Lights Out, the Modifier can be content-themed, with Castlevania for Lights Out and Dungeons & Dragons for Chaos Shuffle.
• In the final hour of the first iteration, the Developers announced that it would be extended for another 11 days, due to its immense popularity in the Community, with Players having queued up for it over 18,000,000 times up to that point.
• The second iteration returned unchanged from the first, due to the positive community reception of the latter.
  • It did, however, launch with a bug that only provided the Perks at Tier I, which was fixed within a day.

Remix Tome Challenges

• Remix Tome Challenges are fully compatible with Chaos Shuffle and can be completed by playing the Modifier normally.
