After performing the Damage Generator action, Machine Learning activates:
- Causes that Generator to become a Compromised Generator.
- Damaging another Generator transfers the state to it instead.
- The Aura of the Compromised Generator is highlighted to you in yellow until it is completed.
Once the
Compromised Generator is completed, you benefit from the following effects for

45 seconds:
- Undetectable Status Effect
- +10 % Haste Status Effect

Machine Learning deactivates after use.
Change Log
- Buff: doubled the Effect duration from 20/25/30 seconds to 40/50/60 seconds.
- Buff: now already compromises the Generator used to activate it, instead of the one after that.
- This change was motivated by the previous Activation condition making the Perk awkward to use.
- Nerf: reduced the Effect duration from 40/50/60 seconds to 35/40/45 seconds.
Trivia
- Based on its file name, Machine Learning was originally going to be called Self-Aware, which at the time already existed as the Generic Survivor Perk version of Fixated
before the return of CHAPTER 13: Stranger Things.
- Machine Learning has its own unique VFX and SFX for when a Generator is compromised and when a Compromised Generator is completed.
- These effects can be seen and heard by Survivors, so perceptive opponents can infer that the Perk is in play.
