Lore
Pulled from the memories of alchemists, warriors, storytellers, and criminals, the Forgotten Ruins is an amalgamation of hidden knowledge and dark secrets.
How many have wandered this dead terrain, unaware of what lurked beneath their feet? And how many more ventured down to the bottom of that decaying staircase, only to succumb to what awaited them?
Landmarks
The Rotted Tower
The Rotted Tower is the main landmark on Forgotten Ruins.
It features an extensive underground dungeon packed with surprises and Easter Eggs related to Dungeons & Dragons.

Change Log
Patch 8.0.2
- Killer Quality of Life: at least 4 Hooks will now always be available in the Dungeon section of the Map.
- Killer Quality of Life: adjusted the location of Passages to avoid being directly next to Pallets or Windows.
Patch 8.1.0
- Survivor Quality of Life: added more Pallets to the ground level.
Trivia
- While Forgotten Ruins did release alongside a Licensed Chapter DLC (CHAPTER 32: Dungeons & Dragons), it is not considered a Licensed Map, but instead a special case of an Original Map containing a special Chapter-themed tile (i.e. the Dungeon section located below the Rotted Tower Landmark main building).
- This is corroborated by the appearance of Dracula's Castle in the sky box when he is the Killer on that Map, as the licensing deals only allow for the Castle to appear on Original Maps.
- While the Intro Theme upon loading into the Map begins the same as the one for its sister Map (The Shattered Square), it ends differently with a dull thud instead of the metallic noises of a sword being forged.
Passages
- Forgotten Ruins introduced the new Passage game mechanic.
- Passages are magical doors which can be used to teleport from one area of the Map to another.
