Exhausted
Exhausted is the Status Effect to the Exhaustion mechanic introduced to Dead by Daylight in Patch 1.5.2.
It is applied exclusively to Survivors.
Mechanic
The Exhausted Status Effect is a debuffing effect applied by various Unlockables and the Remote Flame Turret.
Survivors suffering from Exhausted are unable to use any of the numerous Exhaustion Perks, with Exhausted acting as a universal cool-down.
Exhaustion recovers whenever the affected Survivor is not running, and pauses if they run.

Trivia
- Exhaustion was originally added to prevent Survivors from chaining together multiple Exhaustion Perks, which back then exclusively granted sprint bursts.
- Specifically, its cause of implementation was the so-called "Survivor Machine Gun" (refer to Save the Best for Last
for the Killer-equivalent), a combination of stacking both Sprint Burst
and Balanced Landing
, which was prevalent in late 2016 and early 2017.
