Dwight Fairfield is one of 46 Survivors currently featured in Dead by Daylight.

He was introduced as a member of the original Survivor Quartet that released with the Game on 14 June 2016.

Overview

An unlikely leader forced to rise to the occasion, Dwight Fairfield’s reluctant bravery inspires those around him. Understanding the value of teamwork, Dwight is adept at locating and bolstering the efficiency of his teammates.

Dwight Fairfield is a nervous Leader, able to locate his allies and increase their effectiveness.

His personal Perks, Bond, Prove Thyself, and Leader, allow him to get in proximity of other Survivors and provide bonuses to their actions as well as his own.

He is skilled at finding others and working as a group. His Perks help him and others by keeping them together and alive.

Dwight was geeky and scrawny through high school. He always wanted to be one of the cool kids, but somehow never had the charisma. He tried out for the football team but was cut, the basketball team didn't even take a look, and his grades were distinctly below average. One weekend, on a team-building exercise from his dead-end job, Dwight's boss led them deep into the woods before breaking out his family recipe moonshine. Dwight remembered taking the first sip before waking up late the next morning all alone. During the night, the others had abandoned him. Once again, the laughing stock of the community Dwight tried to hike his way out of the woods. That was the last anyone ever heard of Dwight Fairfield.

Dwight isn't the typical guy you think of when someone says "Survivor". He lacks that certain pizzazz and without his glasses, he's more or less blind. But as the sun sets and the woods come alive, Dwight clasps to his rat race life, making sure that he'll live to see another day even though something unimaginable is after him. Dwight won't stop. He'll survive no matter what. As others spent hours being seen in high school. He spent hours becoming invisible and avoiding danger. And it doesn't matter if it's dangers in the hallway or dangers in the woods. Survival is key. As other employees panic when terror infects them, Dwight makes use of his disturbing teen experience. The tables have now turned and now others need to follow to Dwight's firm directions if they are to survive as he knows how to disappear.

Prestige

Prestiging Dwight will automatically add Tier I of his Unique Perks to the inventories of all other Survivors and unlock the ability for their higher-tiered versions to spawn in their Bloodweb.

Trivia

• Dwight is one of the four original Survivors who was first introduced to Dead by Daylight.
  • The other three Survivors are Meg Thomas, Claudette Morel and Jake Park.
• Dwight is one of few Survivors to wear glasses.
• Dwight's first job was as a Pizza Delivery guy for "PizzaWhat!".
  • Some time afterwards, he worked as the Story-Hook Supervisor at "Peak 22".
• Dwight is the only character from the original Quartet not to receive any changes in model or ethnicity during development.
• There are numerous paintings found all throughout the Realms normally depicting sceneries of certain Realms. Curiously, one of them is a portrait of Dwight, presumably in his Vigo's Apprentice Outfit, in an unknown location (see Gallery).

Character Inspiration

• Dwight was originally modelled after the likeness of a BHVR employee, but unlike popular belief, it is not Mathieu Côté's (Producer) likeness that was the inspiration, as he himself has confirmed in the past.
  The actual employee was once pointed out in a photo in one of the many Weekly Dev Diary streams that the Developers used to make in 2016 and 2017.

Character Memes

• Dwight has a reputation of hiding inside Lockers during the Trials.
  • This is due to the fact that Dwight is Dead by Daylight's default Survivor, causing many first-time players to play as him.
    Combined with the fact that many new players are scared and hide inside Lockers, it lead to the creation of the Locker Dwight meme.
  • Additionally, the Developers have made several jokes in the past about Dwight "being in the closet", which could out him as a closeted gay man.

Voice Actor

• Dwight is voiced by Ian Chuprun, who at that time worked as a Sound Designer on the Game.
