Skills are a special type of Load-OutIconHelp loadout.pngIconHelp loadout.pngIconHelp loadout.png that is only available when playing the 2v8 Game Mode.
They were first introduced in Patch 8.1.0.

There are currently 33 Skills featured in Dead by Daylight.


Overview

Skills are only available while playing the 2v8 Game Mode and replace all other Load-Out options.

Skills cannot be chosen freely, rather there are 5 different Survivor Classes and 4 different Killer Classes that Players can select for their chosen Character.

Each Class provides a set of 3 predetermined Skills , with the only exception being the Innate Skill of each Killer, which remains unchanged across Classes, effectively replacing their Power.


Classes

Both Survivor and Killer Players can select freely from one of several available Classes for their chosen Character, which will determine their skillset for the next 2v8 Trial.

However, there is a limit of 4 Survivors that can choose the same Class, whereas Killers always must pick a unique Class.


Skills

Skills work like a mix of PerksIconHelp perks.pngIconHelp perks.pngIconHelp perks.png and Add-onsIconHelp addons.pngIconHelp addons.pngIconHelp addons.png, combining multiple effects to provide Survivors and Killers with special abilities and additionally enhancing the Powers of the latter.

Skill Slots

Players are always equipped with 3 Skills, which have their predetermined Slots:

  • Survivor Skills:
    • Slot 1: Reveal Skill
    • Slot 2: Team Skill
    • Slot 3: Unlockable Skill
  • Killer Skills:
    • Slot 1: Innate Skill
    • Slot 2: Team Skill
    • Slot 3: Reveal Skill

Survivor Classes

Killer Classes

Team Skill (Runner Innate) Creates a Sprint Radius of 8 metres around The Escapist
Grants the following effects to all Survivors inside the Sprint Radius:
  • Grants a +50 % HasteIconStatusEffects haste.png Status Effect for 3 seconds when starting to run.
    • This effect does not trigger on Survivors already suffering from the Exhausted Status Effect.
  • Causes the ExhaustedIconStatusEffects exhausted.png Status Effect for 20 seconds.

Passively charges the Silent Rush Bonus ability over 30 seconds.
Once fully charged, press the Active Ability button to activate it for all Survivors inside the Sprint Radius:

  • Silences all Rushed actions for 8 seconds.

This Skill also affects The Escapist themself and the ability automatically recharges after use.

  • The Auras of unfinished Generators are revealed to you within 32 metres.

Team Skill (Mechanic Innate) Creates a Tech Radius of 8 metres around The Guide
Grants the following effects to all Survivors inside the Tech Radius:
  • Increases the bonus Progression granted by Great Repair Skill Checks by +3 %.
  • Reduces the volume of all noises emitted by and related to repairing a GeneratorsIconHelpLoading generators.pngIconHelpLoading generators.pngIconHelpLoading generators.png by -50 %.

While repairing a Generator, the AurasIconHelp auras.pngIconHelp auras.pngIconHelp auras.png of The Guide and that Generator are revealed to all other Survivors.

Passively charges the Repair Bonus ability over 90 seconds.
Once fully charged, press the Active Ability button to activate it for all Survivors inside the Tech Radius:

  • Increases the Repair speed by +8 % for 10 seconds.
This Skill also affects The Guide themself and the ability automatically recharges after use.

  • These Charges are applied immediately when starting to repair another Generator.

Reveal Skill (Medic Aura)

Team Skill (Medic Innate) Creates a Vitality Radius of 8 metres around The Medic
Grants the following effects to all Survivors inside the Vitality Radius:
  • Increases the Healing speed by +50 %.
  • Reduces the volume of Grunts of Pain by -50 %.

While healing a Survivor, their AuraIconHelp auras.pngIconHelp auras.pngIconHelp auras.png is revealed to all other Survivors.

Passively charges the Heal Bonus ability over 120 seconds.
Once fully charged, press the Active Ability button to activate it for all Survivors inside the Vitality Radius:

  • Heals any injured or dying Survivors by 50 % of a Health State.
This Skill also affects The Medic themself and the ability automatically recharges after use.

  • The AuraIconHelp auras.pngIconHelp auras.pngIconHelp auras.png of either Killer performing the Break or Damage action is revealed to you for 6 seconds.

Team Skill (Scout Innate) Creates a Sneak Radius of 8 metres around The Scout
Grants the following effects to all Survivors inside the Sneak Radius:
  • Increases the Crouching speed by +100 %.

Whenever The Scout has Line of Sight to either Killer within 64 metres, the AuraIconHelp auras.pngIconHelp auras.pngIconHelp auras.png of that Killer is revealed to all Survivors.

Passively charges the Restore Pallet Bonus ability over 60 seconds.
Once fully charged, the following effects apply:

  • The Auras of all dropped or broken PalletsIconHelp pullDown.pngIconHelp pullDown.pngIconHelp pullDown.png in the environment are revealed to you.
  • Press the Active Ability button at the location of any such Pallet to either raise or repair it over 3 seconds.
This Skill also affects The Scout themself and the ability automatically recharges after use.

  • Permanently increases the Walking speed of The Scout by +25 %.

  • Increases the Breaking speed by +25 %.

This Skill has a cool-down of 30 seconds after use.

  • Increases the Aura-reveal range of the accompanying RevealedIconStatusEffects revealed.png Status Effect by +8 metres.

This Skill only affects The Brute.

Team Skill (Deadly Mark) Grants a +3 % HasteIconStatusEffects haste.png Status Effect while chasing an injured Survivor and this Skill is active.

Causes a Survivor hit within 32 metres of your location by the Killer to receive the Enforcer's Mark:

  • Their AuraIconHelp auras.pngIconHelp auras.pngIconHelp auras.png is revealed to you for 12 seconds.
  • Downing the Survivor consumes the Mark and increases the range of the other Killer's Lunge Attack by +60 % for 15 seconds.
This Skill has a cool-down of 30 seconds after use.

Reveal Skill (Remote Revelation) Whenever you perform the Damage Generator action, you benefit from the following effect:
  • Increases the Aura-reveal duration of the accompanying RevealedIconStatusEffects revealed.png Status Effect by +4 seconds.

This Skill only affects The Enforcer.

Whenever you put a Survivor into the Injured State by any means while also farther than 16 metres from the other Killer, the following effect applies:

  • Grants the other Killer a +10 % HasteIconStatusEffects haste.png Status Effect for 10 seconds.
This Skill has a cool-down of 30 seconds after use.

2v8 (V2)

  • Reduced the number of Skills associated with a Class from 4 to 3.

  • Killer Skills are now also linked to a Class, rather than their Power.
    • The only exception is the Innate Skill.

Trivia

  • As of the second iteration of 2v8, which reworked the implementation of Skills and Classes, several of the former have a unique name, akin to the PerksIconHelp perks.pngIconHelp perks.pngIconHelp perks.png whose role they usurp in the Game Mode.
    • However, these names cannot be seen in-game and are only known due to the filenames of their icons.
      The Wiki displays them in the Tool-tip and in the Trivia section on the various Class pages.
