Score Events are used to award Players with BloodpointsIconCurrency bloodpoints.pngIconCurrency bloodpoints.pngIconCurrency bloodpoints.png in Dead by DaylightIconHelp DBDlogo.pngIconHelp DBDlogo.pngIconHelp DBDlogo.png.

They are triggered through various actions and interactions that the Player can make during the course of a Trial.


Overview

Score Events are awarded in 8 Scoring Categories, 4 per side:

During the larger in-game Events, there is a fifth hidden Scoring Category for Score Events related to interacting with Gameplay Elements exclusive to the Event.


Tracking Score

Triggering a Score Event will cause a pop-up in the upper right-hand side of the screen, showing the associated Scoring category's icon and a white Circle that will fill in red colour the more Score Events are triggered by the Player in that Category.

The Circle is segmented into 4 Quadrants.
Each quadrant represents an accumulated 2,500 BP in its specific Scoring Category, thus making a full circle represent 10,000 BP, the maximum number of Bloodpoints one can gain per Scoring Category in a Trial, ignoring any bonus Bloodpoints that are applied in the Tally Screen afterwards.

Outside of Events that feature a fifth Scoring Category, Players can obtain a maximum of 10 from a ranked Trial.
During Events, this number can be vastly exceeded, as the fifth Scoring Category for Special Events is uncapped.

Let off Some Steam 100 - - Awarded for triggering the Steam Pipes in the Nostromo Wreckage Map.
Macabre Search 100 - - Awarded for searching through Jigsaw Box.
Map Scout 250 - 1,500 (6x) Awarded whenever another track-able Objective is added to Maps.
Open Hatch 2,000 - - Awarded for unlocking the Hatch with a Key.
Repairs (I) - 20 per % 2,000 (100 %) Awarded for repairing a Generator.
Repairs (II) - - - Inactive: unused, would have been awarded while repairing a Generator mid-chase.
Unlocking - 20 per % 2,000 (100 %) Awarded for opening an Exit Gate.
Tenacious 500 - - Awarded for repairing a Generator as the Last Survivor Standing.
Turn Down the Heat 100 - - Awarded for resetting the Steam Pipes in the Nostromo Wreckage Map.
Invocation - 15 per % 1,500 (100 %) Awarded for participating in an Invocation.

Safe Hook/Cage Rescue 1,250 - - Awarded after 15 seconds of rescuing another Survivor from a Hook or a Cage, unless they were put into the Dying State again within that time frame.

Red Envelope

Unlike Survivors, who received a semi-random amount, the 2022 Lurking Stripes Event rewarded Killers with a fixed amount of 4,000 Bloodpoints for interacting with the Red Envelope.

For Moonlight Burrow in 2023, the behaviour was changed to be the same as for Survivors.

History

Previous Progression

The Progression System up to Patch 6.1.0 used the same mechanic, but with different Caps:

  • Scoring Categories were capped at 8,000 Bloodpoints each.
  • The maximum amount of Bloodpoints that could be earned in a Trial was thus 32,000 Bloodpoints.
  • A quadrant would represent just 2,000 Bloodpoints.

Original Progression

With the original, Bloodpoint-based Ranking System, and for several years after new ones were introduced, each quadrant of the Circle represented just 1,250 Bloodpoints, with a full Circle representing 5,000 Bloodpoints.
This was due to that Ranking System requiring Players to fill the equivalent of 2 Scoring circles in order to pip, allowing them to track that progress mid-game.
Any points obtained past the 5,000 mark would not be counted towards Pipping, with the maximum per category still being 8,000 Bloodpoints.

    • Now triggers from downing Survivors doing Main Event instead of downing Survivors exposed by the Add-on's former effect.
  • Reworked the Chest Unlocked Score Event to now grant Bloodpoints per second of interaction, (akin to repairing Generators), to give Survivors credit for partial progress when they are interrupted while unlocking a Chest.
    • Previously, only the Survivors finishing the interaction would get any Bloodpoints.
