The Event began during the Season of Giving 2024.

Event Gameplay

The main gameplay loop with the new Props Snowmen, Decoys, and Snowskulls are back, but with a twist.

Snowmen

EventBanner boneChill2024 snowmen.png
Main article: Snowmen

Quotes left.png Gone are the days of the docile, corncob pipe-sporting snowman of yore. This is The Fog, and these are closer to snow-abominations than, well, men. Yet they too long for friendship, and they won’t be satisfied until you take shelter within their icy forms. Take heed, however – some aren’t exactly what you call friendly.
This year marks a landmark discovery in Snowman evolution, the likes of which have baffled and terrified us to our cores. There are whispers that some of them have started moving on their own, so be careful – you might not be able to tell if there’s someone hiding inside.
Quotes right.png
  • Suppresses all noises related to movement.
  • Grants the UndetectableIconStatusEffects undetectable.pngIconStatusEffects undetectable.pngIconStatusEffects undetectable.png Status Effect.
  • Reduces a Player's Movement speed and visibility.

Be wary of Snowman Decoys, as they can be very loud, and even empty Snowmen may decide to move on their own.

Instant Snowman

EventBanner boneChill2024 instantSnowmen.jpg
Quotes left.png To really crank up the Snowman-related shenanigans to an unhinged degree, we’re introducing the ability to craft an Instant Snowman. If you have a Snowskull in your possession, you’ll be able to build a Snowman whenever and wherever you like.
You also have the option to drop your Instant Snowman to instantly create a Snowman Decoy , which cannot be entered. Instead, the unlucky person that interacts with one will receive a chilling surprise.
Quotes right.png

Hide in a Snowman and trick your adversary. Activate the Instant Snowman ability to summon a Snowman around yourself.
Once tucked away inside, you can either:

  • Deactivate it to use again later.
  • Manually burst out of it, leaving behind a Snowman Decoy.

Snowpiles and Snowskulls

EventBanner boneChill2024 snowpiles.png
Quotes left.png One must wonder, when was the first snowball thrown? Who was the target? Did they respond with anger or delight? So many questions destined to forever go unanswered. One thing that we do know the answer to is whether Killers and Survivors enjoy pelting each other with unnaturally cold, tightly-packed balls. The answer is yes. A resounding yes. Snowskulls are back, so be sure to stop by the closest Snow Pile to load up your supply, up to a maximum of 6. Better to have one and not need it than better to have one and not need it than need one and not have it. Quotes right.png
  • 8 Snowpiles can be found in random locations in the environment.
    • 6 Snowskulls can be collected from them and held at maximum by each Player.
  • Use the Event Ability button to throw Snowskulls at friend and foe alike.

Throwing a Snowskull at a Snowman that has the Killer hiding inside it, causes the Killer to suffer from the HinderedIconStatusEffects hindered.pngIconStatusEffects hindered.pngIconStatusEffects hindered.png Status Effect.

Trade your Snowskulls at any Snowpile to make an Instant Snowman.

Winter Chests

Some ChestsIconHelp chests.pngIconHelp chests.pngIconHelp chests.png in the environment will take on a wintry appearance.
These special Winter Chests are guaranteed to hold one of the following Items:

Event Map

EventBanner boneChill2024 ormond.png
Quotes left.png Who doesn’t love traveling in the dead of winter? Explore a brand-new Map – Ormond Lake Mine – which highlights a dark Chapter of Mount Ormond’s history. The mining project was supposed to be so prosperous, only to be derailed after the assigned crew seemingly slaughtered each other for no discernible reason. In other words, a perfect spot for a relaxing holiday getaway. Note that Ormond Lake Mine is not exclusive to Bone Chill and will remain in rotation after the Event concludes. Quotes right.png

While not exclusive to it, the Ormond Lake Mine Map released in a special event-themed version alongside the Event.

Event Currency

Bone Chill 2024 sees the return of the temporary Event Currency from the previous year: Frosty TrinketsIconCurrency frostyTrinkets.pngIconCurrency frostyTrinkets.pngIconCurrency frostyTrinkets.png.

Event Tome

Quotes left.png The horror and holidays go hand in hand. Think about it – the scheduling alone is a nightmare. That’s not even factoring in the panic-inducing terror that is a last-minute shopping spree. And of course, there’s always Krampus to consider. It’s only fitting that we come through with a new Event Tome, packed with 3 levels of chilling Winter challenges to complete. Quotes right.png

The Bone Chill 2024 Event is accompanied by an Event Tome.
Completing its Challenges rewards Players with Frosty Trinkets that can be used to unlock special event-themed Cosmetics.
