Pools of Blood, also known as "Bleeding", is a Game Mechanic featured in Dead by DaylightIconHelp DBDlogo.pngIconHelp DBDlogo.pngIconHelp DBDlogo.png that is applied exclusively to SurvivorsIconHelpLoading survivor.pngIconHelpLoading survivor.pngIconHelpLoading survivor.png.


Mechanic

Pools of Blood are small puddles of blood spawning beneath the feet of (usually) injured Survivors, making them easier to track for the Killer, or other Survivors.

Perks

Babysitter Babysitter "While you have a reputation for being self-centred, you risk it all to help those in need."

Whenever you unhook a Survivor, you benefit from the following effect:

  • The AuraIconHelp auras.pngIconHelp auras.pngIconHelp auras.png of the Killer is revealed to you for 8 seconds.
The unhooked Survivor benefits from the following effects instead for 20/25/30 seconds: "I promised to keep you shitheads safe, and that's exactly what I plan on doing." — Steve Harrington
Bloodhound Bloodhound "Like a hunting scent hound, you smell traces of blood at a great distance."

Bloodhound causes the following effects:

  • Pools of BloodIconStatusEffects bleeding.pngIconStatusEffects bleeding.pngIconStatusEffects bleeding.png left by injured Survivors appear in bright red.
  • Extends their lifetime by 2/3/4 seconds.

After unhooking a Survivor, while crouched and stationary, press the Active Ability button to trigger the following effects:

  • Suppresses the creation of Pools of BloodIconStatusEffects bleeding.pngIconStatusEffects bleeding.pngIconStatusEffects bleeding.png and Scratch MarksIconHelp scratchMarks.pngIconHelp scratchMarks.pngIconHelp scratchMarks.png for all injured or dying Survivors within 24 metres of your location for the next 10/12.5/15 seconds.
  • Causes you to scream and reveal your AuraIconHelp auras.pngIconHelp auras.pngIconHelp auras.png to the Killer for 5 seconds.

Deception Deception "Your adventurous lifestyle requires moments of crafty misdirection."

Press and hold the Sprint button while interacting with a LockerIconHelp lockers.pngIconHelp lockers.pngIconHelp lockers.png for the following effects:

  • Suppresses the creation of your Scratch MarksIconHelp scratchMarks.pngIconHelp scratchMarks.pngIconHelp scratchMarks.png and Pools of BloodIconStatusEffects bleeding.pngIconStatusEffects bleeding.pngIconStatusEffects bleeding.png for 5 seconds.
  • Causes you to run past the targeted Locker, instead of entering it.
  • Causes its doors to swiftly open and close again, feining you having entered it in a rush.
  • Triggers a Loud Noise Notification for the Killer at its location.
Deception has a cool-down of 25/20/15 seconds.
Low Profile Low Profile You work best alone.
When it is just you and your pursuer, you know how to disappear.

Whenever you are the only Survivor not currently incapacitated by either being downed, carried, or hooked, Low Profile activates:

Low Profile deactivates after use and only accounts for Survivors still participating in the Trial.
Lucky Break Lucky Break "You have had your share of scrapes and bruises, but luck is always on your side."

Whenever you are in the Injured StateIconHelp injured.pngIconHelp injured.pngIconHelp injured.png, Lucky Break activates:

Whenever you are healing another Survivor, Lucky Break recharges by the same amount of time spent performing the Healing action, up to its initial maximum.
Lucky Break deactivates once its timer runs out or whenever your Health StateIconStatusEffects healing.pngIconStatusEffects healing.pngIconStatusEffects healing.png updates to any other but the Injured State.

Lucky Star Lucky Star "You know how to stay calm in the face of incomprehensible danger."

While hiding inside a LockerIconHelp lockers.pngIconHelp lockers.pngIconHelp lockers.png, you benefit from the following effect:

  • Suppresses your Grunts of Pain.
After exiting the Locker you benefit from the following effects for 30 seconds:
  • Suppresses your Grunts of Pain and the creation of Pools of BloodIconStatusEffects bleeding.pngIconStatusEffects bleeding.pngIconStatusEffects bleeding.png.
  • The Auras of the other Survivors are revealed to you.
  • The Aura of the closest Generator is revealed to you in yellow.
Lucky Star has a cool-down of 40/35/30 seconds.

No Mither No Mither "Go on out, kid, it is just a scratch.
Your thick blood coagulates practically instantly."

Causes the following permanent effects in the Trial:

  • Inflicts the BrokenIconStatusEffects broken.png Status Effect.
  • Suppresses the creation of Pools of BloodIconStatusEffects bleeding.pngIconStatusEffects bleeding.pngIconStatusEffects bleeding.png.
  • Reduces the volume of Grunts of Pain by 25/50/75 % while in the Injured StateIconHelp injured.pngIconHelp injured.pngIconHelp injured.png or the Dying StateIconHelp dying.pngIconHelp dying.pngIconHelp dying.png.
  • Unlocks the Self-Recovery ability, allowing you to fully recover from the Dying State:
    • Increases the Recovery speed by 15/20/25 %.

Parental Guidance Parental Guidance "You have inherited the ability to hear the dead — and now the dead warn you of danger."

After stunning the Killer by any means, Parental Guidance triggers its effect:

Plot Twist Plot Twist Big moments are vital, but you know that sometimes an understated read can be just as powerful.

Whenever you are in the Injured StateIconHelp injured.pngIconHelp injured.pngIconHelp injured.png, Plot Twist activates:

  • While crouching and motionless, press the Active Ability button to silently enter the Dying StateIconHelp dying.pngIconHelp dying.pngIconHelp dying.png with the following benefits:
    • Suppresses Grunts of Pain.
    • Suppresses Pools of BloodIconStatusEffects bleeding.pngIconStatusEffects bleeding.pngIconStatusEffects bleeding.png.
    • Grants the ability to fully recover from the Dying State.
  • After full recovery using Plot Twist, you are healed instantly and gain a +50 % HasteIconStatusEffects haste.pngIconStatusEffects haste.pngIconStatusEffects haste.png Status Effect for 2/3/4 seconds.
Plot Twist deactivates after recovering yourself by any means and reactivates once more once the Exit Gates are powered.

Self-Preservation Self-Preservation Life is unforgiving.

The more confirmation you get of that, the more prepared you become.
Whenever another Survivor is hit with a Basic Attack or Special Attack within 16 metres of you, Self-Preservation activates:

Sloppy Butcher Sloppy Butcher You know where to hit to make them bleed.

  • Wounds inflicted by Basic Attacks cause Survivors to suffer from the HaemorrhageIconStatusEffects bleeding.pngIconStatusEffects bleeding.pngIconStatusEffects bleeding.png and MangledIconStatusEffects mangled.pngIconStatusEffects mangled.pngIconStatusEffects mangled.png Status Effects for 70/80/90 seconds.
    • Increases the Bleeding frequency of injured Survivors by 50/75/100 % for the same duration.
  • Increases the Regression rate at which partial Healing Progression is lost because of Haemorrhage by +25 %.
