Description
After vaulting a WindowIconHelp window.pngIconHelp window.pngIconHelp window.png, Bamboozle calls upon The EntityIconHelp entity.pngIconHelp entity.pngIconHelp entity.png to block that Window for the next 8/12/16 seconds.
  • Blocked Windows cannot be vaulted by Survivors.
  • Increases your general Vaulting speed by 5/10/15 %.

Bamboozle only blocks one Window at a time and does not apply either of its effects to vaulting PalletsIconHelp pullDown.pngIconHelp pullDown.pngIconHelp pullDown.png.

Change Log

Patch 2.5.0

  • Change: updated Bamboozle's in-game description to indicate that vaulting Pallets with Bamboozle equipped will not trigger the Entity-Blocker.
Survivors can continue to vault the dropped Pallet indefinitely.
    • This addition to the description was deemed necessary, because of the recent addition of the first Killer able to vault Pallets, The LegionIconHelpLoading legion.pngIconHelpLoading legion.pngIconHelpLoading legion.png, since some Players had previously believed the Perk to be bugged or not working as intended, when it would not block a Frenzy Vaulted Pallet.

Trivia

Stacking

  • Bamboozle stacks with all other Unlockables that also affect the Vaulting speed.
  • Bamboozle only applies its effects to vaulting Windows and does not work on vaulting Pallets.
  • Bamboozle does not increase the Action speed when a Killer uses their Power to vault a Window.
    • This specifically applies to The LegionIconHelpLoading legion.pngIconHelpLoading legion.pngIconHelpLoading legion.png performing Feral Vaults and both The MastermindIconHelpLoading mastermind.pngIconHelpLoading mastermind.pngIconHelpLoading mastermind.png and The GhoulT UI iconHelpLoading K39.pngT UI iconHelpLoading K39.pngT UI iconHelpLoading K39.png using their Powers to bound/leap over them.
If either Killer uses their Power, they will always do it at the action's default speed.
    • The ShapeIconHelpLoading shape.pngIconHelpLoading shape.pngIconHelpLoading shape.png is exempt from this and does benefit from Bamboozle, as it is not Evil Within III that grants him the Vaulting ability and rather applies an inherent Action Speed boost.
  • Originally, Bamboozle would indeed increase The Legion's Vaulting speed for Feral Vaults, but this behaviour was ultimately disabled with the introduction of The Mastermind in Patch 6.2.0.
    • Ensuing Patches reactivated the behaviour at semi-random intervals, which was confirmed by Community Moderator Amanda to be an unintended effect, leading to its definitive removal in Patch 6.4.0.

Window Blocking

  • The Window Blocker is always applied when the Killer vaults the Window, regardless of whether they used their Power or not to do so.

Flying through Windows

  • Killers who can fly through Windows (i.e. The LichIconHelpLoading lich.pngIconHelpLoading lich.pngIconHelpLoading lich.png using the Fly Spell or The Dark LordKillerDracula.pngKillerDracula.pngKillerDracula.png in Bat Form) do not trigger any of Bamboozle's effects, since they are not interacting with the Vault in any way.
    • Killers who fly completely ignore a Vault location as far as the code is concerned, it effectively turns them into doorways.

Reverse Bamboozle

  • Since Bamboozle blocks a Survivor's ability to vault a Window, and one of the Twisted Skills available to Survivors during the Twisted Masquerade 2023 Event did the same to Killers, that skill was internally referred to as "Reverse Bamboozle".
